Skill WOW 7: Don’t Watch the Disc

Notes on this week’s(month’s…) video:

– Cressey’s tweet on the importance of mobility and stability on throwing releases

– ericcressey.com

– Please note that just because you are ‘not cutting’ does not mean you are necessarily completely still (which I may have erroneously implied).

– A recommended methodology on creating habits from zenhabits.net

– Some more thoughts on habits and managing failure from Joel Gascoigne…and a great quote to keep in mind: “”We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle”

There is plenty of other info out there including sites like stickk.com and thoughts from authors like Tim Ferriss. Skill development (language learning, basketball shooting, disc throwing) definitely requires a certain level of repetitive, consistent practice. I highly recommend you try to incorporate a new ultimate habit this fall and learn how easy (or challenging) it is for you to maintain.  It should then inform your future goals in the sport. Know yourself.
